About the Arc of Greater Boston
The Arc of Greater Boston (The ArcGB) is a non-profit organization serving children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Started in 1945 by a small group of parents who wanted to provide support services to their children with special needs, The Arc of Greater Boston was the first organization of its kind in Boston.
We are a human services agency governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and operated by a team of caring, professional staff. The Arc of G.B. serves people in all age ranges, from children to adult, with varying levels of intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our goal is to help persons with disabilities ensure that they receive the individualized services necessary in order to live up to their full potential. We strive to assist individuals in becoming productive members of their communities, while at the same time educating communities on the many positive qualities and attributes of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
