Family Fun Day

Don't miss this year's Family Fun Day. This year, the Arc of Greater Boston has decided to combine the creative excitement of the Family Fun Day with the ceremony of the Annual Meeting and the opportunity to honor those who have done so much to promote and advance the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities with the Annual Awards Ceremony. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, September 16, from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the Veronica Smith Senior Center. This is open to all, and is guaranteed to be a fun time for all. The price for admission is $5 per person, with a maximum of $25 per family. All prepaid reservations will be eligible for a mystery prize valued at $50! See Invitation for details.

New Staff at the Arc of Greater Boston

Tracie Levene

Tracie Levene is a new Case Manager for the Corporate Guardianship Program. Having been with us for just a short while, Tracie has already made herself comfortable and confidently provides case management services to the folks on her caseload.

Linda Curran

The Corporate Guardianship Program is also fortunate to welcome Linda Curran as the newest member of the team. Linda has been with us for just a few weeks, and we welcome her professionalism and skills.

Susanna Peyton

Susanna Peyton has joined us as our new Operation House Call Coordinator. She has jumped right into her new role, providing orientation to new third-year medical students at the Boston University School of Medicine. Susanna is also working to increase the number of host families available to speak with the future doctors on the "real life" of living with an intellectual disability.

More on Operation House Call

Operation House Call (OHC) is teaming up with the Boston University School of Medicine, with the guidance of Dr. Benjamin Segall, to research the outcomes and opinions of the medical students who participate in OHC. The data will potentially be used to continue to track the effectiveness of OHC, and to provide concrete information to future grantors.

Transition Trainings

The Arc of Greater Boston will continue with a series of Transition Trainings for families through a grant from the Arc of Massachusetts and the Findlay Trust. The training sessions are in the planning stage, and will be scheduled intermittently throughout the Fall and Winter. Please contact Tony Sirignano at ext. 18 or check our website for details. If you would like to receive mailings on these sessions, please give Tony a call with your contact information.
